The Power of Suffering
The world of Morrim is made up of four continents. Hormah, Eshima, Virrant and the recently discovered Koraltade.
Each continent varies in is climates even though some areas of extremely different weather are not very far apart. This is said to be the work of Eiloy.
Morrim orbits its sun with its poles perfectly 90 degrees from its plane of orbit, therefore the day lengths are the same for each latitude every day of the year. To the civilized people of Morrim, the orbit around their star is vertical; as if the orbit of Earth around our Sun was looked at sideways, like a turning wheel instead of a spinning horizontal disk. This means that the sun rises in the ‘North’ and sets in the ‘South’ when looking at a map.
Morrim is an ancient world and has been inhabited by many civilizations before the current. Much has been lost to war, magic and the gods over the countless ages, and its inhabitants are as curious as ever to find its secrets.
The known era began 2,067 years ago with the finding of a set of writings describing the rebirth of all races after a complete destruction of life in Morrim. The time before this discovery has been lost to the ages, a chaotic stone age of blood. The Writings, found in an ancient place, told of a war of higher powers rampaging throughout the world, killing every form of life and ending with the removal and protection of the last forms of life from the world. While the war raged, the life was kept safe by the gods for thousands of years. When the battles ceased, the gods chained Azazel, and constructed temples to hold the keys to his confinement on the continent Hormah, which was vacant of civilized life until 566 of the known era.
